Kids & Teen Nutrition, Guided by a Doctor
If mealtimes with your child feel like a daily negotiation, or you’re quietly worried your teenager isn’t growing the way their friends are, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out from generic internet advice.
I’m Dr. Akanksha Sharma, a physician (MBBS, MD in Preventive Medicine) working with Indian and South Asian families in Singapore and India. Every plan on this page is built from clinical assessment, not a one-size-fits-all meal chart. Whether your child is underweight, an intensely picky eater, managing ADHD, an athlete needing better recovery nutrition, or a teenager heading into a growth spurt, the goal is the same: a plan grounded in what the evidence actually says, adapted to real South Asian kitchens and family routines.
What makes these plans different
Doctor-led, not generic. Every program starts with your child’s growth pattern, eating history, and any underlying medical concerns — not a template.
Built for South Asian households. Recommendations use foods and routines families already cook with, not substitutions that never make it to the dinner table.
Evidence-based. Guidance is grounded in WHO, ICMR, AAP, and IAP paediatric nutrition guidelines, translated into plain, practical steps.
Whole-family friendly. Several plans, like the Family Vitality & Resilience Plan, are designed to work for the whole household, not just one child at the table.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my child underweight for their age?
Underweight is determined by plotting your child’s weight and height against WHO or CDC growth charts over time, not by a single number. A doctor-led assessment looks at your child’s growth trend, not just where they sit on one visit — book a consult if you’re concerned about your child’s growth trajectory.
What causes picky eating in toddlers and young children?
Picky eating is often developmental and temporary, linked to sensory sensitivity, a need for routine, or slower exposure to new textures and flavours. In some cases it’s tied to nutrient gaps (like low zinc or iron) that make eating feel unrewarding. A structured, doctor-guided approach can shorten how long it lasts.
Can nutrition really help with ADHD symptoms in kids?
Nutrition doesn’t replace medical or behavioural treatment for ADHD, but specific dietary patterns — steady blood sugar, adequate omega-3s, iron, and zinc — are linked in research to better focus and mood regulation. Feed the Focus is built around this evidence base, alongside your child’s existing care plan.
At what age should I start thinking about teen-specific nutrition?
Nutritional needs shift meaningfully around puberty (roughly ages 10–12 for many children), when growth velocity, iron needs, and calorie requirements increase. Teen Fuel is designed for ages 12–19, when growth spurts and academic demands often collide.
Do you work with families outside Singapore?
Yes. While based in Singapore, consultations are available for Indian and South Asian families internationally over video call — book a free consultation to check availability.
